With Thermawoods retrofitting, your current single glazed glass is replaced with double glazed insulated glass units. Instead of removing the entire window structure, your existing window structure remains in place and the single pane of glass is replaced with a double pane system!
As a result, with Thermawoods patented retrofitting process you can enjoy all the advantages of double glazing because you are getting the same high-quality insulated glass unit at a fraction of the cost.
Retrofitting is also just as effective at enhancing the security in your home and protecting furnishings from UV damage. Retrofit double glazing is a much less obtrusive process, it doesn’t require a lengthy, complex new window replacement which means, it doesn’t require a large investment such as new double glazed windows – yet it will increase the value of your home just as much, or more!

Love the look of your character windows? We can double glaze these too! By adding seals to the internal bead (Staff Bead) and inserting IGU’s we can bring your character sashes into the modern age.
Leadlights
Want to keep your existing Leadlights? No worries! We remove them, clean them and add new border leads before inserting into new IGU’s so that they can last 100 years longer.

Tired of your curtains blowing in the wind? We have several different options for adding draft seals to your windows with the added benefit of helping to reduce external noise.
New Hardware
Are your window and door fastenings looking a little tired? We can supply and install hardware from some of New Zealand’s leading hardware suppliers. We only use solid brass based fixings for your peace of mind.
